Recent advances in geometric measure theory and minimal surface regularity

报告摘要:Geometric measure theory allows one to study existence and regularity problems in geometric variational problems, such as minimal surfaces. These objects have had in turn successful applications in geometry, such as Schoen—Yau’s celebrated proof of the positive mass theorem.

In the last years, there have been interesting developments in several directions concerning the regularity of minimal surfaces. I will give an overview of some of the developments which I have been closest to, including the regularity of stable minimal hypersurfaces and area-minimising currents.

报告人简介:报告人Paul Minter, 普林斯顿高等研究院青年研究员,Clay研究所研究员。博士毕业于剑桥大学数学系。文章发表于包括JAMS在内的顶级数学期刊。
