Searching for hyperbolic periodic orbit by minimizing the action

内容简介：It was discovered by Poincare that minimal closed geodesic on surface is hyperbolic and Birkhoff thought it was also true for Riemannian manifold with higher dimensions. Unfortunately, Birkhoff's conjecture is wrong. It seems the next best thing is to search for hyperbolic orbit by minimizing the action over the set of closed curves with multiple of the homology class. This appears to be closely related to a conjecture of Mane: it is generic that minimal measure is supported on periodic orbits. In this talk, I shall introduce some recent progress on this problem.
报告人简介：程崇庆，南京师范大学教授，1982年南京工学院力学师资班毕业，1988年西北工业大学一般力学专业博士研究生毕业。主要研究领域是微分方程与动力系统。曾获得2001年度国家自然科学二等奖（第一完成人），2010年在第26届国际数学家大会上做特邀报告。先后主持过国家基金委国家级人才基金、重大、重点研究项目，以及教育部国家级人才特聘教授项目。
